The editor-in-chief of Hindi Khabar and senior journalist, Agrawal had written a Facebook post alleging he was robbed of Rs 5,000 by armed assailants near Noida Extension last week.
While he did not file an FIR, Noida Police took suo motu cognisance of the incident based on the social media posts he shared even though Agrawal had not informed the police of the incident, The Indian Express reported last week.
In its investigation, the police found that Agarwal had received a call from his wife when he was at his female friend’s house in the evening.
Another wrote, “Journalist Atul Agrawal was robbed at gunpoint just 250 to 300 meters away from the police station in Noida Extension, survived.
On her official Twitter account, she described in the bio that she is the winner of the Ramnath Goenka award in 2015.
