Township Attorney Matt Lyons, at the Wednesday, March 17, committee meeting, said the township has 180 days from when the bill was signed, which will be Aug.
Bayer said the facility located on Route 22 uses 8,000 gallons of water per day. The facility uses a reverse osmosis process to grow the plants and there is water discharge from that, in addition there is constant discharge from the hydroponics which causes condensation.
Since we just completed our StormWater Management ordinance, is something that needs to be considered.
Bayer also said the township needs to be aware that large trucks do come to the facility in Readington for distribution of the cannabis.
“We have to be very careful with how our land use laws are going to be impacted, especially since we cannot change anything for five years,” Koehler said.
