NJSIAA assistant director Bill Bruno, shown here during the a championship football game at MetLife Stadium, died Saturday at the age of 68.
During his time overseeing track and field, Bruno secured two high-level locations for the Meet of Champions.
He’ll definitely be missed, and I know a lot of coaches feel the same way.
Al Stumpf saw that when he filled in for Bruno during the 2019-2020 track and field season.
“He was very apologetic that I had to take over for him,” Stumpf said.
“The word I can use is that Bill Bruno was a gentleman,” said Golup, who first coached against Bruno in 1995.
