Derrick Henry suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury during the Titans’ 34-31 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora confirmed with league sources after an initial report from ESPN.
He was seen talking with trainers on the sideline in the first half while walking without one of his cleats, but he returned to the game and finished it out.
The reigning Offensive Player of the Year became just the eighth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season last year, as he led the NFL in rushing for the second straight season with 2,027 yards and 17 touchdowns.
According to SportsLine data scientist Stephen Oh, losing Henry for the season drops the Titans’ win total from 11.5 to 10.6 and their chances of winning the AFC from 17.7 percent to 5.9 percent.
