But the Greens never gave Paul a chance. They elected her leader only last October and by the first week of April the Star’s Alex Ballingall was reporting that the knives were out for her, that she was being hamstrung by people inside the party in ways that made it impossible for her to be effective.
This is just too bad. When she emerged as Green leader Paul seemed like a breath of fresh air in Canadian politics, and it seemed possible the party would offer a new, constructive choice on the federal scene.
