Sheldon Richardson won’t re-sign with the Browns, source says; could be headed back to Minnesota, per report

The Browns terminated Richardson’s contract April 16 after signing Jadeveon Clowney, saving them about $12 million on the camp.

With Myles Garrett and Clowney on the outside and Richardson back in the middle, the Browns would have had the potential to be one of the best defensive lines in the NFL.

In March of 2019, Richardson signed a three-year deal with the Browns as an unrestricted free agent worth $37 million, including $21 million guaranteed.

Richardson was an integral part of the defensive line the past two seasons, and was one of the Browns’ better free-agent signings in recent years.

After Baker Mayfield made some remarks immediately after the game, Richardson and Olivier Vernon reminded him and everyone that teammates are like family and that they have each other’s back at all times.
