SANTA CLARA, Calif.
Linebacker Fred Warner and receiver Deebo Samuel departed the team’s 34-26 victory in the third quarter with left hamstring and groin injuries, respectively.
“My groin got kind of tight once I went to make a move so I was just like, ‘Let’s not make that worse’ so that’s why I just went down,” Samuel said.
His injury brought an early end to a record-setting day as Samuel rushed six times for 66 yards and two touchdowns and had a reception for 12 yards.
But by the time he got to the sidelines, you feel like he saved a real bad injury.
Warner’s injury came midway through the third quarter after the 49ers had already lost linebacker Dre Greenlaw to a groin injury.
From there, Warner was seen doing some light jogging, apparently attempting to loosen it up and return to the game.
