The team of Lily Wharton, Claire Tatterson, Kendal Domenick and Addison Gherke brought home gold in the event by holding off hard-charging challengers from Wheeling Park by a bit less than a second was right behind her in fourth.
Being labeled as one of the favorites in the event added plenty of pressure, but the four PHS girls were unshaken in their resolve.
Tatterson and Wharton kept the good times going with a fourth-place showing in the 4×200 alongside Destiny Hastings and Payton Harvey .

Head coach Krystle Cunningham expected more out of her team, but she acknowledged the hardships her team had to face to even make it to the Capitol.
She didn’t qualify, but she PR’d in both of her events by quite a bit.
“This year, it’s been a rough year with COVID and everything, so it was a small team,” she said.
