CHAD TIRSCHEL OF Quinnesec took advantage of the relatively warm fall weather Monday, with temperatures reaching into the 60s, to complete some yard work outside his home on Mellen Street, including spraying off his lawn tractor before putting it away for the season.

The two wettest years on record at Iron Mountain-Kingsford occurred in 2017, 39.31 inches, and 2019, 39.3 inches.
La Nina conditions are expected this winter, which is generally tied to cooler and wetter weather in the northern U.S., although the trends aren’t yet clear.
