The announcement follows GIG and Enso Energy signing a joint venture in June 2020, targeting 1GW of subsidy-free solar and storage capacity across England and Wales.
The company has delivered a number of milestone standalone battery storage and solar-plus-storage projects in the UK, including the country’s first subsidy-free solar farm – the Clayhill site in southern England which co-located 10MW of solar with a 6MW battery storage system – in 2017, which was then sold on to GRIDSERVE in August 2020.
