Ahmed, 45, of New Iberia, faces charges of aggravated second-degree battery, New Iberia Police Sgt.
According to investigators, on Wednesday the victim was asked to count the money that was being handed over to the cashier, KATC reported.
Ahmed then came from behind the counter and struck the victim in the head twice, according to a Facebook video taken by a bystander that showed the alleged encounter.
