Las Vegas Raiders strike gold with Trevon Moehrig at No. 43

After making a shocking selection in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders went into the second round looking to make a move for the defensive side of the ball.

The Raiders had to trade up to get Moehrig, who many felt was the best overall safety in this draft class.

While the Raiders used a first-round pick on a safety in Johnathan Abram a few years back, and Karl Joseph was brought back this offseason, safety was still a concern heading into the draft.

The Raiders had one of the better offenses in football this past season, finishing in the top-10, but the defense was downright atrocious.

With news coming down that the Broncos could be in play for MVP Aaron Rodgers, getting a player like Moehrig was an absolute must.
