Thomas, 32, of Thornville was indicted Tuesday after a March traffic stop in Wheeling that yielded fentanyl filled pills and a pill press used to make counterfeit tablets containing the synthetic opioid.
“They stamp these pills as being oxycodone, adderall or in this case being xanax.
“To stay awake, to get caught up before the final exam, they seek out an adderall but can’t find it legitimately,” he said.
West Virginia State Police stopped Thomas on March 3 on Wheeling Island after leaving a local casino, the US attorney stated.
