Homes that sold in December 2021 cost an average of $650,472, a record for the month and an increase of 40.7 per cent from a year ago.
“On the other hand, the number of newly listed properties was slightly below average for this time of year,” said Kathy Dawson, president of the Huron Perth Association of Realtors.
Active residential listings fell below 100 for the first time in a generation, with just 75 homes on the market entering 2022.
Months of inventory numbered 0.7 at the end of December 2021, down from 1.2 months at the end of December 2020 and below the long-run average of 5.7 months for this time of year.
