That takes the form of members of high school sports teams doing preparation work like staking the golf course or announcing golfers.
Without that direct source of revenue this year, Meijer will be making a donation to Rockford this year following the event.
Money in years past has largely gone back into athletic programs, both at Rockford and Northview.
“Having a partnership with something like the LPGA — where you’ve got such strong caliber athletes that are competing right here in West Michigan — is really something,” Cotter said.
That’s something I think that we need to do more of, obviously.
