DETROIT — The chapter on Ben Wallace the basketball player may be closed, but the book is still a work in progress.
I can handle personalities and attitudes and stuff like that, but I just think that I have a lot more to give to the game than just coach.
On Tuesday night, the four-time All-Star served as the Pistons’ representative in the NBA Draft Lottery.
Wallace’s confidence, as well as the hard work he put in during his playing years, were among the reasons he became the Pistons’ representative.
These players have a living symbol of what it takes to be a Piston and Ben is a team-first guy.
So as Wallace works out the details of the next phase of his life, one thing he knows is that he isn’t leaving the city anytime soon.
From where I started at, to where I ended up at, there’s a lot of challenges that I had to go through and basketball was just the most recognized part of my life.
