Not only did the band’s 100 musicians and dozens of color guards perform a show, they also told a story.
“Our main goal was to bring back the connectivity with our group while working on this group project,” King said.
Being able to perform this season meant more to King and the students because they weren’t able to do so at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Srushay first picked up a clarinet when she was a sixth grader at Smithville Junior High School, and the school’s band director, Cathy Sherrill, taught her how to play.
