Last summer, a Starbucks in south Calgary became the first in Alberta to unionize. The USW said it now represents Starbucks workers at stores in Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Calgary in Alberta and in Victoria, Vancouver, Surrey and Langley in British Columbia.
Currently, the unionized locations of these chain stores are vastly outnumbered by their non-unionized peers.
