Domino’s Pizza announced it is partnering with Nuro to launch autonomous pizza delivery.
Once the vehicle arrives, the customer will enter a PIN number on the bot’s touchscreen, and the car doors then open up to serve the food, CNBC reported.
Four years later, the company used a self-driving Ford Fusion to deliver pizzas to customers in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
“We’re excited to continue innovating the delivery experience for Domino’s customers by testing autonomous delivery with Nuro in Houston,” Dennis Maloney, Domino’s senior vice president and chief innovation officer, said in a statement.
Now, for the first time, we’re launching real world, autonomous deliveries with R2 and Domino’s,” Dave Ferguson, Nuro co-founder and president, said in a statement.
