Delta variant a concern as Montreal pushes to get younger people vaccinated

Drouin said she suspects the number of outbreaks in the city will continue to drop with the end of the school year.

Meanwhile, health officials are continuing their efforts to get as many Montrealers vaccinated as possible.

Specifically, Montreal public health hopes to vaccinate another 13,454 people in the 12-17 age group; nearly 25,000 people in the 18-24 age group; nearly 17,000 in the 25-29 age group; and just under 15,000 in the 30-34 age group.

Bélanger said over the next little while, vaccination vans will start to pop up in various communities with high infection rates and low vaccination rates — such as the one recently deployed by the CIUSSS West-Central in collaboration with Jean Coutu.
