Defence rules in Roughriders’ Green and White scrimmage

Nick Marshall, DeMarquis Gates and Nigel Harris each recorded an interception against a struggling Saskatchewan offence before 2,882 spectators at Mosaic Stadium.

“It just takes longer for offences to gel and I’ve always felt that way,” Riders head coach Craig Dickenson said after Saturday’s scrimmage.

Nell, one of two Global kickers on the roster, was successful on all of his three field-goal attempts — from 23, 38 and 31 yards.

Harker entered the scrimmage with leg up on the competition for Fajardo’s backup by virtue of having one season of experience with the Riders.
