The couple, who were not identified in the state records, has dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, respectively, The Tennessean reported.
The Tennessee Board for Licensing Health Care Facilities said staff members were supposed to increase check-ins with the husband in February because he had shown wandering and exit-seeking behaviors, WBIR reported.
On April 7, the board fined the facility $2,000, WBIR reported.
“The safety of our residents is the top priority at our senior living community,” the statement read.
