Michigan law only allows for deliveries to homes or designated consumption establishments, so Hot Box Social is for people who want to have an event outside of a home where marijuana is used.
While Hot Box Social is currently only available for private events, the plan is to eventually open the lounge for visitors outside of ticketed events starting sometime later this year, possibly in the summer.
“Trucenta is a vertically integrated company with outdoor and indoor cultivation, processing, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and retail.
The venue features 3,000 square feet of indoor lounge space, as well as a 5,000-square-foot back patio that will be available later in the summer.
“As we create what are called social districts in the city, I think we might have a situation where someone purchases a drink at another business, like Shamrocks or Joebar, and they will walk around the district with their drink, and perhaps meet people at this consumption lounge.
“Where the dispensaries have come in, the buildings have either been completely remodeled or demoed and brand-new stuff built, and every piece has been an upgrade from what was there — and if those businesses disappeared tomorrow, they would still be great pieces of real estate,” LeCureaux said.
