Ohio Cannabis Legalization Group Lacked Signature

Columbus, Ohio — A group trying to legalize possession and cultivation of marijuana in Ohio couldn’t collect enough valid signatures to raise the issue in front of state legislators, Secretary of State said.

If the petition movement is ultimately successful, Ohio lawmakers will have four months to decide whether to address this issue.

Jamie Callender of Lake County submitted a legalization bill that would impose a 10% tax on the sale of marijuana, a clause contained in the group’s petition.
