The release of Red is a big deal in itself.
When the song was first released with the rest of the album Red in 2012, it wasn’t meant to be the highlight, and yet somehow that’s what it became.
It also alludes to the reason the two broke up, which happens to be the difference in age: “You said if we had been closer in age/ Maybe it would have been fine”.
To go with the song, Swift also released a short film written and directed by her, starring Sadie Sink .
Swift signed the deal with BMLG when she was 15, in return for an advance and a chunk of revenue.
