Of those surveyed, 86 percent said they have heard at least a little bit about cryptocurrencies.
A 2015 Pew study, which asked different questions and focused exclusively on Bitcoin, showed that just 48 percent of adults had heard of that digital currency, while only 1 percent reported ever using it.
This year’s survey also found that younger people were more likely to use cryptocurrencies.
Meanwhile, when looking at people of all ages, men were twice as likely as women to report ever having used cryptocurrency.
