With November marking the National Football League’s Salute to Service month, the Dallas Cowboys are recognizing the occasion with a subtle-yet-significant change to their traditional silver, white, and blue helmets.
The red, white, and blue look of the Cowboys’ helmets is a throwback to 1976, when they sported the same red stripe in recognition of the bicentennial anniversary of the American Revolution.
“This will truly be a special day for all of us as we salute the men and women around the world who protect and defend our country,” read a statement by Charlotte Jones, Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chairman of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation.
