Major League Baseball unveiled the preliminary 2022 schedule on Wednesday, which means we finally have a date for the long-awaited All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.
That’s the latest on the calendar an MLB All-Star Game has been since 1981, when an in-season labor stoppage pushed the game to August 9.
Dodger Stadium last hosted the All-Star Game in 1980.
As for the regular season, the Dodgers open and close 2022 the same way — with a series against the Colorado Rockies.
The National League West plays the American League Central in interleague play in 2022, though every team still plays their “natural rival” as well.
The second half of the schedule is chock full of matchups against the divisional rivals, including two September series against the Giants and three series versus the Padres in the final month.
The longest homestand for the Dodgers is 10 games, from June 30-July 10 against the Padres, Rockies, and Cubs.
