4 busts at Texas port net more than $1.4 million in narcotics

CPB officers confiscated illegal narcotics worth more than a combined $1.4 million in four busts at the Laredo Port of Entry during a two-day span.

The first interception occurred June 28 at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, where CPB officers discovered packages containing 7.8 pounds of suspected cocaine and roughly 2.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine within the personal belongings of the driver of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade arriving from Mexico.

The second seizure occurred the same day at the World Trade Bridge, where CPB officers intercepted a daily express consignment truck arriving to the cargo facility from Mexico.

A separate seizure at the same location later in the evening involved a 2020 International tractor manifesting a shipment of plastic scrap arriving from Mexico.

The fourth interception occurred June 29 at the World Trade Bridge, where officers encountered a 2011 Freightliner.
