Copley’s Michael Allio tells ‘Bachelorette’ Katie Thurston his story: ‘She needs to know everything’

Copley’s Michael Allio earned not one but two roses from Katie Thurston on this week’s episode of ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” which aired Monday.

After narrowing the field to 15 men to start Week 3, accounting for Allio’s first rose of the night, Thurston picked him for the episode’s only one-on-one date, meaning they finally had time alone.

Allio had previously told Thurston about having a son, 4-year-old James, but not what happened to James’ mother.

The loss is “still very real,” Allio acknowledged.

Thurston reached across the table and picked up a rose and offered it to him, signifying he would be safe for another week, if he accepted, and he did.

It was New Year’s Eve, she said, and she had been drinking, and for years blamed herself or denied what had really happened.

Thurston said she had asked the bachelors to be vulnerable, and wanted to show them she was willing to do the same.
