Furbatto spent ten years at McLaren before spells with Manor and Toro Rosso, before becoming Chief Designer at Sauber in 2017 and remaining there when the team became Alfa Romeo Racing.
Lawrence Stroll – father of Aston Martin driver Lance – took control of the team in 2018 and following the outfit’s rebranding as Aston Martin this season, has set ambitious targets to be racing at the very front of the grid.
“As we continue to add weight to our technical team, we are hugely excited that Luca Furbatto has chosen to join Aston Martin,” Szafnauer said.
