Why college football playoff expansion adds urgency to Ohio State’s next two seasons

Now that the 12-team option has been spoken into existence, the college football world will be clamoring to institute it as soon as possible.

So my money is on a 2023 start to the expanded format.

As we discussed on Monday’s Buckeye Talk, Ohio State projects to have the best roster in college football in 2023.

That means one more exposure to an upset or injury than those teams are currently forced to conquer in the four-team structure.

On the other hand, no one at Ohio State is complaining now that the four-team playoff went into effect in 2014.
