April 13: New daily COVID-19 cases still trending well above average in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Health reported 2,340 new COVID-19 cases in the state today, bringing the total number of cases to 1,043,729.

The number of new cases today is higher than the rolling 21-day average of daily cases, which is 1,948.

The ODH reported 167 new hospitalizations today, with 13 ICU admissions.

COVID patients make up 7.26% of the state’s ICU beds, non-COVID patients are occupying 64.37% of ICU beds, and 28.37% of ICU beds are currently open.

To date, the COVID-19 vaccine has been started in 4,160,582 people in Ohio, which is 35.59% of the state’s population.

The COVID-19 vaccination has been completed in a total of 2,705,814 people, which is 23.15% of the state’s population.

There were 18,893 tests done on Sunday, the latest day this data from the ODH was available.
