Plans for the melodic film were first announced in January 2020 by Tina Fey, who composed both the film and the melodic.
The couple has cooperated on different tasks before, including music recordings and shows, however Mean Girls will check their element first time at the helm at a studio, per Broadway Buzz.
“I’m exceptionally eager to take Mean Girls back to the big screen,” Fey said in December 2022.
